The Portosenso Architect

French Architect Jean Nouvel is the man behind the impressive Portosenso development near Altea on the Costa Blanca. Jean had a unique vision of harnessing the natural beauty of the local surroundings and making them work with state-of-the-art living. With the use of natural materials, light, colour, aromas, and atmosphere he has created a breathtaking development that is sure to be the landmark in the building industry on the Costa Blanca.

Jean Nouvel was born in 1945 and opened his office in 1975. He received his biggest break in 1981 when president Mitterand commenced his Grand Projects and by 1988 his lnstitut du Monde Arabe was complete. Its facade was unlike anything seen previously and launched Jeans architectural career immediately.
Jean Nouvel has recently inaugurated the Quai Branly Museum in Paris, France and is also responsible for some of the most impressive forms of architecture in Europe. His unique design skills can be witnessed at the Agbar Tower in Barcelona, the Lyon Opera House and the reformation of the Queen Sofia museum in Madrid.
Jean Nouvel has won many architectual awards over the years such as:
Grand Prix d'Architecture: 1987
Aga Khan Award for Architecture: 1989
Royal Institute of British Architects: Royal Gold Medal for Architecture - 2001
